You know what?

Are H1b workers replacing American workers. Lets see the statistics. With unemployment rate of 8.9%, around 14 million (14,000,000) Americans ( source ) are with out jobs as of Aug 2011. Total labor force is 153.6 million. Number of H1b visa slots this year is 85000. This counts to 0.61% of the total unemployed. How is avoiding this 0.61% visas, going to give jobs for the remaining 99.39% of the workforce. People got to find ways to create jobs for everyone, rather than pointing fingers to things which don't mean anything at all.

This year, the h1b applications have not filled even after 5 days. This clearly indicates, how some companies have misused the h1b visas in the past 2-3 years. With the strict rules enforced, the eligible candidates have a good chance of getting and adding value to the America's technical work force. There are total of 85000 visas alloted. 20000 for those with a Master's degree and 65000 for the others.

What do you think will be the future of US economy. Will Barack Obama be able to keep up to his words. He is taking all possible steps to back up the economy. Are the steps taken good for providing jobs to the people? Will the people to able to retain their homes? So many questions arise in the minds of people. I am also having the same question? Salmonella is a bacteria which causes typhoid fever and food bourne illness. Its usually spread through poultry products and raw eggs. Now there is fear that, its spreading in tomatoes. There are still questions if tomatoes are the real cause or any other ingredients were the actual cause. Its three months since the first case of Salmonella. People are getting sick. Restaurents who greatly depend on tomatoes, esp Mexican for salsa and others are finding it difficult to find an alternative. The alternatives they have come up with ended in tasteless food. Its very difficult to find the root of the proble, where its originating from. Because, tomatoes are grown in one place, distributed to another place, sorted and sold in remote locations. And also, they are mixed.

There has been a lot of talks on the possibility of earth quake in the bay area. I April, scientists calculated that there is a 63 percent chance a magnitute 6.7 or greater quake will hit on a bay area in the next 30 years. Currently there are systems which can provide 10-20 second warning. How well can this prevent deaths and help people to be safe?
